These are a great treat for any dog on a grain-free diet. Of course, they are good for any dog no matter what type of diet they may be on! They are a meaty, crunchy cookie. The dogs love them! This recipe is great if you have leftover mashed potato from your meal or plan ahead and make extra.

1 lb lean ground beef, raw
2 cups mashed potato
2 cups mashed cooked carrots
2 egg, beaten
3/4 cup water

Cook and mash potatoes and carrots together. If you have a preference you can use only carrot or only potato. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix eggs into potato/carrot mixture. In a large bowl, combine beef and water with your hands or a masher. Add potato/carrot mixture and combine thoroughly. Divide dough into smaller portions to work with. Spread flour on the counter or other work surface. If your dog has allergies, be sure to use a 'safe' flour (NOTE: rice flour and potato flour are gluten free). Using a rolling pin spread the dough to 1/2 or 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with your choice of cookie cutter or use a pizza cutter to cut squares of your size preference. Place on a non-stick baking sheet and bake for 1 hour. Cool completely and store in a container.
